Maison Yusif at Paris Perfume Week — A Statement, Not Just a Presence

MaisoYusif proudlyn  represented Ghana at the prestigious
Paris Perfume Week — marking a historic moment as the first niche fragrance
house from Ghana to take the stage.

We didn’t just show up — we showed off in flying colors.
Draped in our traditional kente, agbada, and fugu, we carried not just
fragrance, but identity, culture, and heritage. Every bottle, every scent,
every presence at our stand told one story:

Africa is not new to perfumery — Africa is where it began.

This moment was more than representation.

It was a reclaiming of the throne — restoring the narrative
that perfumery traces back to ancient civilizations like Ancient Egypt and
Mesopotamia, long before modern European influence. Yet, over time, Africa was
written out of that story.

Maison Yusif came to Paris to correct that.

Beyond the exhibition, Maison Yusif received a prestigious
invitation to Meta Platforms’s official Paris center — a powerful recognition
of our work. There, we proudly showcased “Made in Ghana” products to a global
audience, introducing African luxury and craftsmanship to the Meta community.

The defining moment came when France 24 invited

Yusif Jnr Meizongo onto their live evening show — making him
the first perfumer from Ghana to appear on the network.

On that platform, he spoke boldly:

                      About scents as storytelling tools

About nature, culture, and memory from
Africa

And about the true origins of
perfumery

He challenged the global narrative — making it clear that
perfumery did not begin in France, but was refined there, while its roots trace
deeply into African soil.

This was not just an appearance.

This was a movement.

 A movement to:

Put Ghana on the global fragrance map

                      Celebrate African artistry at world
standard

And reclaim a legacy that has always
belonged to us

Maison Yusif — Proudly Made in Ghana.

Telling African stories, one scent at a time.
