Valuvite MCA Awards 2026 makes history with a massively held event

On Saturday, 9th May 2026, the stars aligned perfectly as Valuvite, Elegant Health, and AMCAG brought the nation’s capital to a standstill with the maiden edition of the Medicine Counter Assistants Awards.
The well-attended event was held at the GNAT Hall, Adabraka, where movers and shakers in the pharmaceutical industry converged for an unforgettable night of elegance and excellence.
Elegant Health Ltd, organisers of the Valuvite MCA Awards, in conjunction with AMCAG delivered what industry players have been describing as a gold standard event in the pharmaceutical industry.
The event attracted a distinguished list of industry titans, including the Pharmacy Council, the Pharmaceutical Society of Ghana, the Association of Medicine Counter Assistants, Ghana, Big Maron Pharmacy, the Pharmaceuticals Importers and Wholesalers Association, Astel Foundation & Bridgeview Pharmacy, East Cantonments Pharmacy, and others.
Valuvite- headline sponsors of the event and a host of officers from supporting sponsors including DHI College of Health, Unichem Chemists Ltd, and Universal Hospitals Ltd were also fully represented.
At 5 pm, the Red Carpet was rolled out as elegantly dressed patrons trooped in in droves to witness history being made and lend support to their favourite nominee.
When the event officially kicked off at 6:00 p.m., the auditorium was a sea of glitz and glamour, with patrons eagerly anticipating a glimpse of the action.
After Christian prayers were administered by Rev. Rufus Quarshie, the CEO of Elegant Health, Dora Debra raised the curtain with a beautifully crafted speech.
In her welcome address, Miss Dora Debra disclosed what motivated her to organise this event to reward medicine counter assistants nationwide.
“MCAs are the first to interact with the public, the trusted voices behind the counter, and the dependable link between patients and quality healthcare. That is why we at Elegant Health conceived this award- to recognise their dedication, professionalism and tireless labour”, she allowed.
Keynote addresses were also delivered by Dr. Christian Trebah Quao of the Pharmacy Council.
He expressed his admiration for the organisers for having the foresight to put together this impressive event.
Dr. Chris, as he is affectionately called, while highlighting the integral role of MCAs, reminded MCAs to eschew acts that bring the profession into disrepute, and to always proceed under the guidance of a pharmacist as a matter of routine.
The President of AMCAG, Mr. Constants Reuben Abbey, in a speech read on his behalf by Mad. Brew-Davies, Gen. Secretary of AMCAG also thanked organisers for working around the clock to make this lightbulb occasion possible.
He also tasked MCAs to be united and to work tirelessly in this noble endeavour to make AMCAG a formidable entity in the pharmaceutical industry.
A recipient of the “Lifetime Achievement Award”, Pharm Eric Edward Otoo, the man credited with pioneering the formal training of medicine counter assistants in Ghana, noted in an emotionally charged acceptance speech, how proud he was to see such an award scheme come to life in his lifetime.

Award winners for the Valuvite MCA Awards were selected based on a rigorous and credible voting system and the most voted nominee in each category emerged victorious.
The biggest award of the night, the VALUVITE MCA OF THE YEAR 2026 went to Miss Victoria Kudjo, from the Eastern Region.
As part of her winner’s package for being the best all-around MCA in the country, she received a plaque and a citation.
She will also be treated to an all-expense paid weekend getaway in an exclusive location, with the kind sponsorship of Unichem Chemist Ltd.
Other notable awardees included Mr Raphael Otabil, who received the “Entrepreneurial Award” for transitioning from an MCA to a highly successful entrepreneur in the pharmaceutical industry.
Invited guests, nominees and the general public were full of praise for Elegant Health and AMCAG for delivering this groundbreaking event with distinction.
They were optimistic that the event would grow in leaps and bounds to become the most talked-about event of the year in the foreseeable future.
