Abraham Attah wins Black Film Critics Circle’s Rising Star Award

Young Ghanaian rising actor, Abraham Attah, has received yet another award, this time the rising star award, from the Black Film Critics Circle.
The US critics’ association called the Ghanaian’s debut as an African child soldier was “one of the strongest and most phenomenal we have ever seen” and said he had “a very bright future ahead of him”.
 Beasts of No Nation received a special mention, with young lead Abraham Attah getting the BFCC’s rising star award.
 Abraham Attah is a Ghanaian actor. He made his feature film debut in Beasts of No Nation. For his leading role of child soldier Agu, Attah was awarded the Marcello Mastroianni’s Best Young Actor Award at the 72nd Venice International Film Festival

 While most 14-year-olds are busy worrying about their adolescence, Abraham Attah has bigger fish to fry — he’s already carved a name out for himself in the international film scene.
The teenager from the Ghanaian capital of Accra won the Marcello Mastroianni’s Best Young Actor Award at the 2015 Venice Film Festival on Saturday for his lead role in Netflix’s first original feature movie, “Beasts of No Nation.”
