President John Dramani Mahama has praised the growing relationship between Ghana and South Korea, highlighting the role of Ghana’s ambassador, Kojo Choi, in strengthening ties between the two nations.
Speaking during bilateral discussions with South Korean President Lee Jae-myung, Mahama noted that Ambassador Choi has become a symbol of the shared values and cooperation between Ghana and South Korea.
“We are also proud of our Ambassador Kojo Choi, who embodies the values of both Ghana and South Korea,” President Mahama stated during the high-level talks.
The comments were made as part of Mahama’s four-day working visit to South Korea, which aims to deepen diplomatic relations and explore new areas of collaboration between the two countries, including trade, technology, and investment.
According to the President, Ghana values its longstanding partnership with South Korea and is keen on expanding cooperation in sectors that will accelerate development and economic growth.
Mahama also emphasized the importance of people-to-people connections in strengthening international relations, noting that individuals like Ambassador Choi play a crucial role in bridging cultural and economic ties.
Ghana and South Korea have maintained cordial relations for decades, with growing collaboration in areas such as infrastructure development, education, industrialisation, and technology transfer.
The visit is expected to produce new agreements and partnerships aimed at boosting bilateral trade and encouraging South Korean investment in Ghana’s key sectors.
President Mahama’s trip also includes engagements with business leaders, government officials, and technology firms as part of efforts to attract strategic investments into Ghana’s economy.
