Apostle Mrs. Rita Korankye-Ankrah Celebrates 64th Birthday at Graceland Needy Child Care Shelter

To mark her 64th birthday, Apostle Mrs. Rita Korankye-Ankrah journeyed to the Bawjiase mountains to visit the Graceland Needy Child Care Shelter (Adom Fie), fulfilling a heartfelt promise made during her last visit in December. Welcomed by a vibrant cultural entry dance from the children, she seamlessly aligned her milestone celebration with the shelter’s core motto: “Rescue the perishing”. Transforming her birthday into a profound day of ministry and life-changing generosity.
This year’s mission was amplified by the participation of Through the Roof, UK, a Christian disability charity led by Team Lead Rob Dalton. The UK team delivered inspiring messages on mobility, independence, and inclusion as vital pillars of a child’s development. This was followed by an inspiring exhortation by Nick Jackman, who reminded all present of Jesus’ deep and abiding love for children.

Demonstrating her characteristic compassion, Apostle Korankye-Ankrah fully honoured her prior commitments by presenting substantial donations to sustain the home. These included a brand-new deep freezer, bulk quantities of Indomie instant noodles, essential toiletries, and assorted drinks. To ensure the continued sustainability of operations, she also distributed special cash gifts in support of the home and its dedicated staff.
The celebration reached a joyful climax with the cutting of a magnificent birthday cake, as Mama Rita generously served a feast of Jollof rice, cake, and ice cream to every child and guest on the premises. The day concluded with warm group photographs taken outside the shelter, capturing smiles that reflected God’s boundless grace. Apostle Korankye-Ankrah expressed her profound gratitude to the Through the Roof team, church partners, and all who travelled from the city to the mountain village to share in this extraordinary day of giving.
