Austin Orette Campaign Urges INEC to Correct Omission of ADC Delta South Candidate

The campaign organisation of Dr. Austin Orette has called on the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to rectify the omission of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) candidate for Delta South from the final list of candidates nominated by political parties for the 2027 senatorial elections.

The campaign organisation, in a statement issued on Sunday, maintained that Dr. Austin Orette is the rightful ADC candidate for the Delta South senatorial election.

The statement, titled “Missing Candidate Name,” urged INEC to immediately review and update its published list to reflect Orette’s candidacy.

“INEC must restore or update its list,” the campaign organisation said.

The statement, signed in Owhelogbo by the Director of Public Affairs, Ovie Omajemite, warned the electoral commission against any wrongful exclusion of candidates ahead of the 2027 elections.

The organisation further cautioned that any wrongful exclusion could have serious legal consequences.

“Wrongful exclusion will nullify the 2027 Delta South senatorial election completely in court,” the campaign organisation stated.

The campaign organisation also commended the ADC’s state and national leadership for their position on the matter and their efforts to ensure that the party’s candidate is properly reflected in the electoral process.

The organisation called on INEC to address the omission and ensure that the final list accurately reflects candidates duly nominated by the political parties ahead of the 2027 senatorial elections.
