23-year-old woman accuses Prophet of sexually abusing her at 14, demands GH¢5bn
A 23-year-old Ghanaian woman named Augustina Kankam has publicly clashed with Ghanaian preacher Prophet Joshua during a live radio broadcast, accusing him of having sexual intercourse with her when she was just 14 years old and describing him as having a small manhood.
In the heated exchange, the Prophet denied having any sexual encounter with the young woman, claiming that he did not recall ever sleeping with her, while she insisted that he swear he had never had any sexual encounter with her.
The young woman described the Prophet’s manhood as very small, claiming that he would often caress it in an attempt to enlarge it, as she sought to jog his memory and convince him that he was indeed the man she had the encounter with.
She further claimed that the pastor could not have sex with her more than one round, something that has affected her current relationship.
According to her, her current boyfriend likes sex, but because the pastor who broke her virginity could only manage one round, she is similarly unable to go beyond one round with her present partner.
“Are you saying you have never had anything to do with me before? Then swear. Isn’t your penis small? You are always caressing it just to get an erection, and you cannot even have sex more than one round. So, when I have sex with another man, I also cannot go multiple rounds,” she said.
Augustina Kankam has demanded GH¢5 billion from Prophet Joshua, who already has a wife and children, for allegedly covertly engaging in a sexual affair with her while she was a teen girl.
Speaking on Lawson FM, Augustina Kankam explained that she was 14 years old when the prophet, based in Accra, asked her mother to allow her to come and help him with house chores such as cooking and cleaning.
These visits happened consistently, and the prophet sometimes allowed her to sleep over.
According to the young woman, she recalled that after cooking for the pastor and gathering her belongings to leave, he asked her to sleep over.
She initially resisted, but the pastor insisted. She eventually stayed and shared a bed with him. That was when the pastor had sex with her without her permission at dawn for the first time.
“After cooking for him, I was about to leave when he insisted that I spend the night. I wanted to sleep in the hall, but he asked me to come and sleep beside him on his bed. When I eventually went to the bed, I was scared. At dawn, I realised that he had penetrated me and had sex with me while I was still a virgin,” she narrated.
Augustina Kankam further alleged that the pastor continued to have sexual intercourse with her so many times that she has lost count, from the age of 14 until she reached senior high school.
She claimed that the pastor had threatened her not to disclose to anyone, not even her mother, that he had sex with her.
She complied because she feared that if she opened up, the pastor would stop taking care of her. It was only after she had fallen out with the pastor that she was able to tell her mother.
However, her mother never believed that the pastor could do such a thing.
Augustina added that the entire experience has led to depression, emotional instability and physical distress, therefore demanding GH¢5 billion to seek medical attention from a psychologist and also cater for herself.
However, Prophet Joshua denied all the allegations describing them as false on the radio show, stressing that he had nothing to do with the young girl and had only helped her through her schooling, helped her parents and her other siblings.
