Stars, Style and Culture Take Over the Cooking with Gamechangers Ghana Premiere

The Ghana premiere of Cooking with Gamechangers came off in grand style on Saturday, June 6, at the Labadi Beach Hotel in Accra, bringing together personalities from entertainment, business, media and culture for a night of glamour, storytelling and celebration.

The much-anticipated premiere marked the official launch of the Ghana edition of the show, which blends food, culture, entertainment and the inspiring stories of some of Ghana’s most successful business executives.

From the start of the event at 6:00 p.m., guests arrived in style, fully embracing the unique dress code for the evening: Food Ingredient-Inspired. The theme encouraged attendees to interpret Ghana’s rich culinary culture through fashion, and the red carpet quickly became one of the standout highlights of the night.

Guests showed up in bold colours and creative looks inspired by Ghanaian ingredients and local food culture. From pepper-inspired reds to plantain yellows, cocoa browns and other striking interpretations, the red carpet reflected the creativity and cultural pride that defined the evening.

Stars and Gamechangers Show Up

The premiere attracted several well-known names from Ghana’s entertainment and business circles.

Among the personalities spotted at the event were veteran rapper and cultural icon Reggie Rockstone, actress Juliet Ibrahim, social media sensation Endurance Grand, comedy duo The Mitch Brothers, entertainment group Three of a Kind and Pulse Ghana’s Managing Director, Colette Amaeshi.

Distinguished engineer and business leader Dr. Adjei Boateng was also in attendance, highlighting the show’s appeal beyond entertainment and into Ghana’s business community.

The gamechangers featured in the Ghana edition were also present and celebrated on the night. They included Elias Hage, Precious Bonsu, Kodo Kwaku Bediako, Vivian Boateng, Victorine Sarr-Awuah, Chichi Yakubu, Nana Yaa Serwaa Sarpong, Mildred Akotia, Bernard Kafui Sokpe, Halima Sanusi, Anthony Dzamefe and Dr. Powell Noble.

These personalities are at the centre of the show, taking on the challenge of stepping out of their usual professional spaces and into the kitchen to prepare meals in front of cameras.

Judges and Host Bring Star Power

The judges for the Ghana edition, Majid Michel, Joselyn Dumas, Kobi Addai and show creator, Seyieyi Banigbe, were also present at the premiere, making their red carpet appearances to warm reception from guests.

The selection of the judges reflects the show’s unique format. Since the gamechangers are not professional chefs, the show brings together personalities who understand food, entertainment and honest reactions to assess their efforts in the kitchen.

Actor James Gardiner, host of the show, was one of the key personalities of the night. With his charm, humour and natural control of the room, he guided the programme from the opening moments through the games segment and the announcement of the best dressed winners.

His energy gave guests a preview of what audiences can expect from him throughout the season.

First Episode Receives Positive Reactions

The highlight of the night was the exclusive screening of the first episode of Cooking with Gamechangers.

For about 20 minutes, guests watched some of Ghana’s successful personalities attempt to prepare meals on camera. The screening drew laughter, cheers and spontaneous reactions from the audience as the gamechangers showed a more relaxed and human side of themselves.

Speaking about her experience filming the Ghana edition, convener Seyi Banigbe said Ghanaian food made a strong impression on her.

“There were some Ghanaian dishes that literally blew my socks off,” she said. “I experienced flavours I had never tasted before and I must say I had a ball filming with all of our gamechangers.”

After the screening, Kobby Addai hosted an audience feedback session, where guests
shared their thoughts on the episode. Many praised the show for its blend of entertainment, food, culture and inspiration.

Fun, Games and Best Dressed Moments

The evening also featured interactive games and light-hearted moments that kept guests entertained.

Seyi Banigbe led a games segment with the judges, while James Gardiner and Daniel took part in a pick-up lines challenge that brought laughter to the room.

Another major highlight was the Best Dressed Award. With guests taking the Food
Ingredient-Inspired theme seriously, the competition was exciting and entertaining. The winners of the Best Dressed Male and Female categories were celebrated amidst a lot of pomp and pageantry.

A Strong Start for the Ghana Edition

By the end of the evening, it was clear that Cooking with Gamechangers had made a strong entry into Ghana’s entertainment space.

The event sparked conversations among guests, with many sharing photos, videos and reactions from the premiere across social media.

According to Seyi Banigbe, the show is built on the belief that success stories can inspire people to become better versions of themselves.

“People become what they consistently see,” she said. “If you are consistently watching success stories, you will become successful. That is what this show is about.”

Cooking with Gamechangers uses food as a storytelling tool, bringing successful
personalities into the kitchen and allowing viewers to see them in a more relatable and entertaining way.
