Pride Land by the Dead Sea: A Prophetic Echo of Sodom

There is something deeply sobering about seeing Israel hosting the largest Pride Event near the Dead Sea. This event will be called “Pride Land.” As we know, this region is connected biblically to Sodom, Gomorrah and the Cities of the Arabah.

The other names for the Dead Sea are the Salt Sea and also the Sea of Arabah. A place associated with judgement, barrenness, and death. Yet today, many continue to exalt Pride as something to be celebrated.

The Bible says “Pride goes before destruction, and a haughty spirit before a fall.” And again, “For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world.” The phrase “Pride of life” speaks of a way of living rooted in self exaltation apart from God.

How ironic that the biggest “Pride Land” event is celebrated by a Sea known for death. It’s almost like a prophetic pattern unfolding before our eyes. The same region where judgment once fell upon Sodom and Gomorrah because humanity rebelled against God is now once again being used to glorify what God calls sin.

BUT JESUS! The same God who judged Sodom is the same God who sent His Son so that sinners could repent, be washed clean, and receive eternal life. Jesus is the opposite of pride. The cross is still able to save. The blood of Jesus still breaks bondage.
Mercy is still available for those willing to repent and believe the Gospel.

During this year of Pride, not only in Israel but around the world, please be in prayer and intercession for these lost souls. Pride leads to death, Christ gives Life. Expect me to be going even harder during Pride Month this year. His foundation will be established in this Community! He will be seen! Souls will be saved!
