The Tema Oil Refinery (TOR) recorded $2.9 million in revenue for February 2025, its highest monthly haul in three years. Announced via GHOne TV and buzzed about on X, the feat is credited to Managing Director Edmond Kombat, who took the helm in January 2025. TOR beat its revenue target by 150.2%, a welcome shift after years of financial woes and a $540 million debt.
The refinery, capable of processing 45,000 barrels per day, has been mostly dormant since March 2021, needing $25 million to restart as of late 2024. The $2.9 million revenue hints at partial operations, though it’s a fraction of what full capacity could earn at today’s oil prices. It marks a notable uptick after a three-year stretch with little positive financial news.
