President John Dramani Mahama has unveiled ambitious plans to upgrade the old Tamale Central Hospital in the Northern Region, aiming to alleviate the pressure on the Tamale Teaching Hospital and enhance healthcare delivery in the region.
This strategic move is expected to significantly improve the quality of healthcare services available to the local population.
Speaking during a thank-you tour in Tamale on Saturday, March 22, President Mahama emphasized the need for this upgrade, stating, "We intend to upgrade the Old Tamale Central Hospital in order that it will ease the pressure on the Tamale Teaching Hospital."
He further revealed that the Tamale Municipal Hospital, formerly known as the Works Hospital at Zubile, will also undergo upgrading to achieve this goal ¹.
The President's vision is clear: to provide better healthcare outcomes for the people of the Northern Region. As he succinctly put it, "This will improve health care for the people of the Northern Region."
Furthermore, President Mahama announced the government's commitment to investing in irrigation development, which will undoubtedly have a positive impact on the region's agricultural sector.
